As a Lecturer in Domestic Electrics at Canterbury College, you’ll use your real-world experience to spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire the next wave of skilled electricians.

About You

We’re after someone who’s switched on, organised, and full of energy - someone who can bring the world of domestic electrics to life for our learners.

You’ll need to:

  • Be highly organised and efficient, with a knack for keeping things running smoothly.

  • Plan and deliver creative, hands-on lessons that keep learners engaged.

  • Bring up-to-date industry know-how and real-world experience to the classroom.

  • Have great people skills - able to connect, motivate, and inspire.

  • Help every student develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

If you’ve taught or trained before - brilliant. If not, don’t worry! We’ll give you full training and ongoing support to help you shine. What matters most is your positive outlook, empathy for learners, and strong classroom presence.

You’ll be teaching a range of study programmes and courses from Level 1 to Level 3, helping learners gain the skills and qualifications to kick-start their own careers in the trade.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Employees can move up the salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete, subject to approval. Therefore, internal applicants may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification.
