As a Lecturer of Engineering at EKC Canterbury College, you’ll bring your industry experience into the classroom - teaching, training, and assessing learners across a range of practical and theoretical topics. About You

We’re looking for someone who’s hands-on, organised, and full of ideas to help our learners build their skills and confidence for the workplace.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering engaging, practical lessons that bring engineering to life.

  • Supporting learners as they get to grips with real-world skills.

  • Tracking progress and stepping in with extra help when it’s needed.

  • Creating a friendly, safe and supportive workshop environment.

  • Helping students prepare for their next step - whether that’s an apprenticeship, job or further study.

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone positive, approachable, and great with people.

  • Experience teaching or training others would be a bonus - but it’s not essential. If you’ve trained apprentices or shown others the ropes on the job, we’ll give you all the support and teacher training you need to get started.

  • The ability to teach a range of study programmes and courses at Level 2 and Level 3.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification
