As a SEND Officer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring young people with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive. This is a rewarding and dynamic role at the heart of our Inclusive Learning team — perfect for someone passionate about making a difference.

What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinating EHCP consultations, working closely with Local Authorities, families, external agencies and professionals.

  • Attending and leading EHCP Annual Reviews, so a sound knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans is essential.

  • Overseeing transitions into and out of college, liaising with schools and providers to ensure a smooth, well-planned experience for each learner.

  • Creating and reviewing risk assessments, healthcare plans, behaviour support plans and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans for learners with complex needs.

  • Supporting and attending key support meetings, ensuring outcomes are recorded and the right support is actioned swiftly.

  • Leading on effective communication across departments, cascading support plans to staff and ensuring consistent delivery across the college.

What you'll bring:

  • A clear understanding of Safeguarding and working with vulnerable learners.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills — this is an office-based role requiring regular collaboration with our Inclusive Learning admin team.

  • Confidence and professionalism when leading meetings with students, families and professionals.

  • A calm, compassionate approach, with the ability to manage complex situations confidently.

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and organised individual to join our Inclusive Learning Support team.

You will:

  • Have experience working in the Special Educational Needs (SEN) sector, supporting young people and adults with additional needs

  • Understand the specific learning, behavioural and emotional needs of individuals with SEN

  • Be committed to upholding the dignity and respect of all students at all times

  • Be confident in recording and updating information accurately and in line with internal protocols

  • Know when and how to share information appropriately with colleagues, while adhering to data protection legislation

  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills, working collaboratively with staff and external professionals

  • Show a proactive and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for inclusive education
