We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Recreational Assistant to join our friendly team. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll play a key part in ensuring visitors, members, hirers and event guests enjoy a welcoming, safe and enjoyable experience at our sports centre.

As part of a close-knit team, you will support a range of activities, from sporting events and children's parties to long-term facility bookings. You'll help ensure our facilities are presented to the highest standards and are ready for use by a diverse range of customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for all visitors and members.
  • Preparing sports centre facilities for hirers, ensuring spaces are set up safely and efficiently for activities and events.
  • Supporting the smooth running of events, parties and regular bookings across the centre.
  • Carrying out routine checks, cleaning and basic maintenance of gym and sports equipment to maintain high standards of safety and presentation.
  • Opening and closing the facility in line with operational procedures and security requirements.
  • Managing bookings and reservations, ensuring accurate records and effective scheduling of facilities.
  • Processing payments and handling customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Promoting a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all users of the sports centre.

This is a 20 hour per week position, offering great flexibility. The role includes two evening shifts between Monday and Thursday (4:30pm–10:30pm) and a regular Sunday shift (8:00am–4:30pm).

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service while contributing to the success of a vibrant community sports facility.

About You
