 As a Lecturer of Maths at EKC Broadstairs College, you’ll inspire students to think logically, tackle challenges with confidence and see the real-world value of mathematics. By teaching, training and assessing learners across a range of learning environments, you’ll create engaging experiences that help students develop the skills they need to succeed.

Alongside delivering high-quality teaching, you’ll provide individual support to help learners reach their full potential and take responsibility for designated study programmes and courses. You’ll use your expertise to shape, deliver and continually refine the curriculum, ensuring every lesson builds knowledge, develops problem-solving abilities and keeps students on the right trajectory towards their goals.

We pride ourselves in the support we can give those who are new to teaching, with ongoing training and coaching through our Teacher Academy which includes digital skills support. About You

You’ll be a highly organised and creative Maths educator with the ability to break down complex concepts into clear, engaging lessons that build confidence and develop problem-solving skills. Whether exploring algebra, geometry or data, you’ll inspire learners to think critically and apply mathematical reasoning in real-world contexts. Strong interpersonal skills, a positive approach and the confidence to manage a classroom effectively are essential, as is the ability to analyse student progress and use that information to plan targeted support and interventions.

Ideally, you’ll have experience teaching Maths or delivering training in an educational or workplace setting, although this isn’t essential as full training will be provided. You’ll be confident delivering Level 1 and 2 GCSE and Functional Skills Maths programmes, helping learners overcome barriers, strengthen their numerical skills and achieve their full potential.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification
