About The Role

 We are looking for a Learning Support Practitioner to join our Sheppey Campus. You will provide 1-2-1 and group support to students who have a high level of need undertaking a range of subjects and qualifications from entry 1 up to level 3 including Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths.


Students may have a wide range of learning difficulties and or disabilities, and will require support in their programme of study, work placement and if necessary their welfare/personal care needs.

 Here are just some of the things you will be doing in this role:
 
  • Provide inclusive, person-centred support to students with SEND 
  • Assist learners in the classrooms, workshops and enrichment activities
  • Offer guidance and encouragement to promote independence and confidence 
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals 
  • Support students in achieving their qualifications and progression goals
  • Assist with personal care when required (Full training will be provided)

About You

You will be passionate and enthusiastic about supporting students with a high level of need, and have strong communication and understanding of behaviour support.

 Ideally you will have gained previous experience with working alongside individuals with visual and/or hearing impairments, global development delay and language & communication difficulties.

 

In your role you will be working with individuals with:

  • Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental health needs
  • Global development delay
  • Sensory and Physical needs
  • Visual and/or hearing impairments

Experience in working with the above needs would be an advantage. This may also include personal care, assisting with mobility and specific medical/feeding needs. Experience in working with the above needs would be an advantage but full training will be given.
