As a Lecturer in Carpentry at EKC Broadstairs College, you’ll use your industry knowledge and practical skills to shape the future workforce. You’ll teach, train and assess students across a variety of learning environments, ensuring every learner gains the hands-on skills and confidence they need to succeed in the carpentry trade.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver engaging and practical carpentry lessons, workshops and demonstrations.

  • Support and inspire learners to reach their full potential.

  • Lead and manage study programmes and courses within carpentry.

  • Design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes to meet industry standards.

  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

About You

You will be highly organised, creative and motivated, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging carpentry lessons that bring the subject to life. Your strong interpersonal skills will help you connect with learners, while your focus on assessing and tracking progress will ensure every student develops the skills they need to succeed.

What we’re looking for:

  • A positive outlook and empathetic approach to supporting learners.

  • Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire confidence in students.

  • Experience teaching or delivering training in the workplace (not essential – training will be provided).

  • The ability to teach across a range of programmes, from Level 1 through to Level 3.

  • Commitment to motivating learners to achieve and reach their full potential.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification
