About The Role

As a Lecturer of Bricklaying for EKC Training, you’ll inspire the next generation of skilled tradespeople. You’ll teach, train and assess students across a variety of learning environments, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.

This role is based at Eastchurch, Sheppey, where we deliver courses to Cat D prisoners as well as to community learners.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Teaching and assessing Level 2 Bricklaying (practical and theory)

  • Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals

  • Designing, delivering and evaluating engaging programmes of study

  • Encouraging and motivating students to develop confidence and employability skills

  • Leading and contributing to designated study programmes and/or courses

  • Delivering other multi-trade skills (desirable but not essential)

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Bricklaying

  • Confident in delivering theory as well as practical sessions

  • Organised, supportive and passionate about helping learners succeed

  • Teaching experience is welcome, but not essential – training is provided

About You

You will be a highly organised and creative educator, able to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire learners and help them reach their full potential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to assess, track and support student progress are essential to ensuring all learners succeed.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to design and deliver innovative lessons that capture learners’ interest

  • Strong skills in assessing, tracking and planning interventions to support progress

  • A positive outlook and empathetic approach towards learners

  • Confident classroom management skills to maintain a supportive learning environment

  • Flexibility to teach a range of study programmes from Level 1 to Level 3

  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners to achieve their goals

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Teaching experience or experience delivering workplace training – full training and support will be provided for the successful applicant

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification
