About The Role

Inspire Progress, Empower Futures: Lead the Way at Folkestone College

 Are you passionate about transforming lives through education? As a Lecturer for the Level 1 Progression course at Folkestone College, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the journey of students taking their first steps into further education.

This exciting opportunity calls for a dynamic educator with a deep understanding of diverse learning needs. You’ll design and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons—tailored to support individual progress—and guide students confidently toward Level 2 programmes.

But your impact won’t stop in the classroom. You’ll lead the development and delivery of a programme centred on volunteering and meaningful stakeholder engagement, building valuable connections across curriculum areas and the wider community.

Your responsibilities will also include the delivery and assessment of a recognised Level 1 qualification, incorporating Functional Skills in Maths and English, ensuring students are equipped with the foundations they need for success.

Note: this role is for 18.5 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £17,365 up to £19,044 per annum.

You’ll be confident in assessing and tracking student progress, using this insight to inform lesson planning and personalise learning pathways—ensuring all students develop the essential skills they need to thrive and succeed.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Employees can move up the salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete, subject to approval. Therefore, internal applicants may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification.
