About The Role

Lead a Team to Provide Inclusive, Innovative and Safe Learning Environments - Join us as Inclusive Learning Team Leader

 

As an Inclusive Learning Team Leader, you will manage a team of Learning Support Practitioners (LSPs) to provide innovative holistic support and safeguarding for all students. In your role you will also be responsible for overseeing the management and co-ordination of in class and out of class support across all vocational areas and to work with schools to ensure that students have a smooth transition experience.


As a Team Leader you will need to oversee the health requirements of students with profound medical and physical needs in the department, meeting with schools, liaising with relevant professionals, ensuring the appropriate therapeutic support is in place and overseeing health care plans.

You will have knowledge of Safeguarding as well as developing risk assessments and behaviour support plans for complex and vulnerable students.

 

The post holder will be working alongside the students, families, and professionals to ensure all aspects are addressed. They will be assessing the potential needs of applicants including undertaking the annual reviews for the students EHCPs. Consequently, a working knowledge of Education and Health Care Plans (ECHPs) is also a necessity.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking individual to join our team and make a meaningful difference to young people with Special Educational Needs. You will bring experience from the SEN or Care sector, along with the ability to lead and support a team in a positive, student-focused environment.

You will support learners with challenging behaviour and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, using proactive strategies to build independence, confidence, and self-regulation. Experience of using communication aids such as Makaton, visual prompts, and symbol support is essential.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and support a team to deliver high-quality support
  • Use proactive approaches to manage behaviour and reduce incidents
  • Support students with SEMH needs to develop independence
  • Adapt communication methods to meet individual needs
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding and data protection
  • Promote dignity, respect, and inclusion at all times
