About The Role

Support our College sites buildings and grounds. 

East Kent Colleges Group (EKC Group) is seeking proactive and reliable Estates Assistants to join our team on a flexible, ad hoc (supply) basis. With six Colleges across East Kent, you’ll have the opportunity to support either one college, or a range of campuses and facilities.

If you enjoy hands-on work and want flexibility to fit around other commitments, this could be an excellent opportunity.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as a key holder, opening and closing buildings to ensure sites are safe and secure

  • Setting and un-setting intruder alarms, and carrying out routine fire alarm and emergency lighting checks

  • Checking core infrastructure and equipment to ensure everything is operating effectively

  • Supporting a range of caretaking and Estates duties, including minor repairs, maintenance, deliveries and portering

  • Working with external contractors to ensure buildings and equipment are maintained in line with legislation and compliance requirements

About You

We’re looking for Estates Assistants to join us on a supply basis. If you enjoy variety, can stay calm under pressure, and are happy working both independently and as part of a team, this could be a great opportunity for you.

You’ll help keep our campuses safe, welcoming and running smoothly, supporting staff, students and visitors across the EKC Group.

What we’re looking for:

  • A friendly, flexible approach to tasks

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to keep things running efficiently

  • Experience of monitoring, testing and accurate record keeping for Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems

  • A genuine interest in supporting others and contributing to a positive learning environment
