As a Lecturer in Plumbing at EKC Canterbury College, you’ll teach, train and assess learners across a range of settings, delivering an engaging, high-quality learning experience. You’ll support and motivate students to reach their full potential, and contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of our plumbing programmes.

Whether you’re an experienced lecturer or a skilled industry professional ready to move into teaching, we want to hear from you. If you’re new to education, our Teacher Academy offers structured training, coaching and digital skills support to help you transition into teaching with confidence.

About You

You’ll be highly organised, creative and learner-focused, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging, innovative lessons that inspire and challenge students. You’ll track learner progress, tailor interventions and ensure every student develops the skills, confidence and knowledge to succeed.

Whether you’ve taught before or trained others in the workplace, we’d love to hear from you. If you’re new to teaching, full training and support will be provided, so you can build your confidence in the classroom. You’ll bring a positive, empathetic approach, strong classroom management skills, and a genuine commitment to helping learners thrive.

You’ll teach across Levels 1–3, motivating students to achieve their goals and progress in their careers or further study.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer / Programme Director positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers / Programme Directors will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (You must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification
