East Kent Colleges Group is seeking a dynamic Head of Built Environment at EKC Canterbury College to drive forward our vision for excellence across this vital curriculum area.

As Head of Built Environment, you will manage a diverse programme that includes:

  • Construction & Bricklaying

  • Electrical & Plumbing

  • Design, Surveying & Planning

  • Manage Resources – effectively oversee a delegated budget to maximise impact and sustainability.

  • Empower Learners – support every student to achieve their full potential and progress into meaningful careers.

About You

Current industry knowledge and a strong understanding of modern practices are essential, alongside a commitment to excellence and a strategic outlook.

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree-level qualification and a recognised teaching qualification (DET/PGCE/CertEd).

  • Demonstrable teaching practice at a good or outstanding level.

  • Experience of curriculum planning, development, and delivery.

  • A proven ability to manage and lead a professional team to deliver excellent outcomes.

  • Up-to-date industry knowledge and understanding of current practices.

  • A commitment to innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
