About The Role

Join Our Finance Team at East Kent Colleges Group!

Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual with a flair for finance? East Kent Colleges Group is looking for a Finance Assistant to become a valued member of our dynamic Finance team, based at our Canterbury campus.

In this key role, you’ll take the lead on managing tuition fee collections, monitoring student instalment plans, processing student loan payments, and raising invoices for employers and commercial clients. You’ll play a vital part in keeping our financial systems running smoothly and accurately.

Your responsibilities will also include proactive debt management in line with the Group’s debt policy—this means confidently following up on outstanding payments, working closely with debt recovery partners, and providing clear, professional support to resolve fee and invoice queries.

This role is for 18.5 hours per week, with a pro rata salary of £12,252 per annum.

About You

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who can bring the following skills and experience to our Finance team:

  • Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills

  • A clear understanding of the sales ledger process, including:

    • Raising invoices

    • Allocating payments via electronic methods

  • The ability to prioritise workload effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Previous experience working in a busy finance office, preferably with:

    • Sales ledger and/or debt collection responsibilities

    • Use of a computerised accounting system (e.g. Sage, Agresso, etc.)

  • A methodical and accurate approach to financial tasks

  • Work confidently on their own initiative
