As a Lecturer of Engineering and Construction at EKC Sheppey College, you won’t just teach — you’ll ignite potential. You’ll deliver engaging, hands-on training and assessment across a range of learning environments, ensuring every student receives a first-class learning experience.

You'll play a vital role in guiding learners to success, helping them unlock their full potential through expert support, mentorship, and innovative teaching. As a key leader in your area, you’ll take charge of specific study programmes or courses — designing, delivering, and continuously refining them to meet the evolving needs of the industry and our students.

About You

Are you ready to empower learners and make a real impact in the world of engineering and construction? We're looking for a highly organised, creative, and passionate individual who brings energy and creativity to a fast-paced classroom

As a Lecturer, you’ll be at the heart of delivering engaging, innovative lessons that bring industry knowledge to life. Your ability to build connections, track student progress, and support individual development will be key to ensuring every learner achieves their full potential.

What you’ll bring:

  • A creative approach to teaching, with the ability to plan and deliver exciting, hands-on lessons

  • Excellent interpersonal and class management skills

  • A sharp eye for detail when assessing, tracking, and planning interventions to support student success

  • A positive, empathetic attitude and a commitment to inclusive learning

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Experience in teaching or delivering training in the workplace (though this isn’t essential — we offer full training and support for the right candidate!)

  • Confidence to work across a range of study programmes and levels, from Level 1 to Level 3

Your teaching focus will include:

  • Engineering, Carpentry, and the Built Environment

  • Working with both 16–18-year-old students and our Junior College learners as part of our new Engineering provision

  • Collaborating with the Engineering and Technical Industries team, with potential to support Carpentry or Multi-Trades teaching

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Employees can move up the salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete, subject to approval. Therefore, internal applicants may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification.
