About The Role

**Please note that this is a part-time, temporary vacancy which requires the successful candidate to work 18.5 hours per week until 25 November 2025 with a salary of £12,271 pro rata per annum**
 
As a Skills Practitioner at EKC Sheppey College you will provide Learning/Technical support to staff and students within the Construction and Built Environment department and to undertake assessment and quality assurance duties as required by the College and awarding bodies.
 
This role is available on a temporary basis to cover a current member of staff who is being deployed by the Army Reserve during this period,

In your role as a Skills Practitioner you will liaise with internal and external customers/stakeholders as necessary or required, provide feedback to students that will aid successful progression and achievement and stock control, to include ordering and issuing of supplies and machining of materials to prepare for lessons.

About You

We are seeking to appoint an organised and efficient member to our team who has excellent communication skills and can facilitate learners on tasks. You will also provide demonstrations as required in class to aid the delivery of outstanding provision within EKC Group.


You will have recent industrial experience in a relevant area. Ideally, they will have experience of education or involvement in training in the workplace. You will be able to work with young people to achieve and succeed their full potential aligned with the culture and ethos of the Group.

You will have a key responsibility for Instilling and upholding strong Health & Safety standards in practical environments and will purchase resources and materials within budget. You will also support the department by preparing and machining materials to prepare for lessons.
