About The Role

EKC are seeking a Skills Practitioner in Photography, Music and Media to join our team at Ashford College. 
 
This role involves maintaining and managing art and music equipment, setting up media and AV systems for events, and providing hands-on assistance in art and music projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of technical resources, fostering a dynamic and creative learning environment.  
 
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the artistic and technological growth of four community, supporting a wide range of creative projects and initiatives. 
 
Key responsibilities
 
  • Maintain and organise the inventory of art, music, and media equipment and supplies.
  •  Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and coordinate repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment for classes, rehearsals and performances.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for art, music, and media projects
  • Assist students and staff with the use of equipment and software in studio, labs and classrooms.
  • troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art, music and media technologies.

About You

We are seeking to appoint an organised and efficient member to our team who has excellent communication skills and can facilitate learners on tasks. You will also provide demonstrations as required in class to aid the delivery of outstanding provision within EKC Group.

The ideal candidate will have recent industrial experience in a relevant area. Ideally, you will have experience of education or involvement in training in the workplace. You will be able to work with young people to achieve and succeed their full potential aligned with the culture and ethos of the Group.

The successful candidate will have a key responsibility for Instilling and upholding strong Health & Safety standards in practical environments and will purchase resources and materials within budget.
